  Homelessness among families is also down over the last decade. Still, about 8, families children were homeless in California last year, according to point-in-time estimates. Unlike households without children, those with at least one child are far more likely to utilize emergency shelter or transitional housing. Homelessness is a major and growing concern for Santa Rosa, and has been identified as one of the City Council's top priorities.
